The browser war is anything but over.  While most of us are content to squabble over Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla, or Safari as to which desktop browser is the fastest, smartest and best - Browsers such as Opera which although command a realitively small percentage of the adoption pie on the desktop (don’t let it stop you trying Opera however, it is very fast and has a wealth of features out of the box to satisfy entry and power users alike) it is the world’s most popular mobile Web browser with over 20 million users.   Within it’s January State of the Mobile Web report,  Opera CEO Jon S. von Tetzchners outlines that use of Opera’s Mini browser in the UK has increased by 63 per cent over the past year, indicating that accessing the web while on the move has gone mainstream.

Job S Von TetzchnerJon reflected - “Looking back on a full year of mobile web growth, it is easy to see why mobile devices will become the primary device for web usage in most of the world,”

He Continued - “Developing countries may lead the way due to the sheer prevalence of mobile devices versus PCs, but the solid growth rates in developed countries such as the US, the UK and Germany, show that the entire world is moving in this direction.”

Jon will be presenting about The Future of Mobile Applications - The Browser vs the OS at the Wireless and Mobile event on 21st-22nd May, Olympia 2, London.  Free Entry - Register Now.
